My kids thoroughly enjoy there training here. Mel is fantastic with the kids, he instills in them, confidence, self discipline, self awareness without them even knowing it. All the while teaching them invaluable self defence skills in a relaxed friendly family environment.

One of the best gyms I have been to, been training for 7 months here, excellent atmosphere, small community and feels more like a family than partners. The coach has a long experience with coaches like Erik Paulson who's one the best BJJ Practitioners.

Been attending for about 18months. Started on two sessions a week (kickboxing and BJJ) and gradually increased to add the CSW classes. Joined to loose weight after COVID Lockdown, dropped from 16" 10 to 14" 7, as of today. Cannot recommend enough, Mel is great, the sessions are all great, and everyday is a school day. If I could give it more stars, I would.

top class place. best quality martial arts in wigan id say and been to a few. small and out of the way but it holds quite a impressive connection and legitimacy to authentic martial arts. from big name connections like dan inosanto and erik paulson. you wont go wrong here. classes were fun, the people there were nice, have multiple martial arts to pick from on different days. did catch wrestling here myself, think they do bjj now but its the same thing anyway. only stopped going myself due to my own money limitations, but im too lazy to work lol

I have trained in several gyms and with a number of instructors over the years and Mel's club is definitely my favourite. Mel is the best instructor that I have ever had the honour to train with. He is highly skilled, patient and knowledgeable and delivers the perfect blend of tuition of the highest standard combined with fun and enjoyment. I can not recommend this club highly enough. Whatever your motivations for training are, you will find exactly what you need at MCKG.
