Martial Arts Taught at MCKG
Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) draws from Kali, Silat, Shoot Wrestling, Jun Fan, Catch Wrestling and other grappling arts. We include hitting and trapping on the ground, choking, arm and leg locks, submissions and takedowns from a standing position.
Savate Thai Cross Training (STX Kickboxing) is an effective hybrid striking system developed by Erik Paulson that utilises elbows, punches and knees from Boxing, Panantukan, Jeet Kune Do, Savate and Muay Thai.
Combat Submission Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CSBJJ) is a gi-based grappling system developed by Erik Paulson (5th degree black belt under Rigan Michado) that utilises the full arsenal of the grappling arts for a dynamic, multi-layered approach to newaza. Learn how to takedown, control and submit your opponent.
Jeet Kune Do
Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto researched every martial art they could. Bruce’s Jeet Kune Do system is known for its economy of motion and integration of arts. The areas practiced include Kickboxing, Trapping and Grappling.
The National sport of Thailand, Muay Thai fighters have been called the “Kings of the Ring”. They may strike any part of the body with kicks, knees, punches and elbows: an awesome offence and constant concentration on defensive Structure.
Throughout South East Asia, Silat describes a whole host of martial concepts and systems which include the use of bladed weapons, strikes, throws and joint manipulations. From Silat we concentrate on an exact understanding of leverage and body positioning.
